User Poll
Algebra and Software Programming - what are the chances a person can make a living as a programmer if that person is not good at algebra?

Zero.
Might be able to fake it if they have a good enough development environment.
It's possible, the mental skills overlap is not that strong.
Flash(tm)!
They would probably end up being the person who hires other people to program.

Bear, Jones, Potatono, Glitch, everyone else. Believe it or not, I'm from the future. I went back in time to the very first archived post to give you a message. A lot has happened since 2000. As you've noticed, the computers are all still working and the earth didn't explode, that's a good thing. Oh, and uh... VOTE FOR GORE FOR GOODNESS' SAKE! Bush is gonna rig the election and win by a margin of a few hundred votes!

But something even worse will happen. On September the 11th, 2001, two planes will fly into each World Trade Center tower and another will fly into the Pentagon. Thousands will die and the towers will collapse. I know, I know, you think I'm crazy, but it's true! Do whatever you can to stop those attacks! Oh hell, the FBI doesn't even listen to these warnings, why do I bother?

So after 9/11 ("nine-one-one", "nine-eleven", "september 11th", "the day Bush said 'Thank you God for this great excuse'") America is torn apart. People go crazy because they realize they are not mortal. Patriotism runs rampant and Bush's ratings go from dismally low to one of the highest approval ratings ever. He takes the opportunity to launch the "War on Terror" -- A crafty title for an operation really paying homage to the failed operations of his father. We bomb the heck out of Afghanistan looking for a terrorist group known as "Al Queda" and an Islamic extremist known as "Osama Bin Laden" -- two names you've never heard until now. They won't find him but smoothly segue into a war against Saddam Hussein, known terrorist supporter. War follows, and an eventual capture of Hussein in a spider-hole. The Iraqi government is liberated. Just in time too -- Bush's ratings were getting low.

It's now 2004 and unemployment has sky-rocketed, the surplus has turned upside down into the greatest deficit numerically (3rd greatest taking into account the state of the economy), the economy was shit for a long time but recovering, military expenses are easily twice that of the rest of the world combined and Bush is still an asshole. The only democratic runner with a chance against Bush is slippery and the campaign season is looking to be the least intelligent and most childish in history.

You may think I'm crazy, but you must take action now before Arnold Schwarzenegger becomes Governor of California! You think I'm joking don't you!:

Yah.............yah. Get to work.

Oh, and this lengthy post is something LF-ers of the future will call a "rant". It is customary to post a picture of a cute dog after one, or something. I don't quite get it but they'll be pissed if I don't. So here it is.... then revolution.

It's the damned time machine (=browser)
Posted by DonkaWechico on Mar 26, 2004 07:06am

After posting with the "time machine" and then clicking back on the "time machine" it reuses the posting command and it posts what's in the cache -- Err... the triaxial flux capacitance memory chip. I'm thinking of posting it to the temporal bug list even though it's not a bug -- it just makes me look greener than Bush's pockets.
