This is a home video of the recent tsunami making landfall at Patong. It shows the scale of the wave as it washes through a bunch of trees and over a small building.

Anyone speak the language?

I don't recognize the cameraman's language -- can anyone translate what he's saying?
He sounds quite calm about it, as if the tragic implications aren't evident (and perhaps they're not... I couldn't tell if there were bodies in the water or not).

My guess was Frisian. But that would put it in the north of Holland.
Or are you saying it's Vlaams or possibly Achterhoeks (those are southern)?
I confess I'm not particularly familiar with any of these languages.

They've been showing this video for a while on the news now. On CNN (seems like via BBC) they're showing a new one from a reston in Sri Lanka. Amazing how overwhelmingly feeble we are when faced against the wrath of nature!

Here is the translation in English. Sorry if i write it in bad English. I can't here what the lady and the child say.
This is wat the cameraman is saying:
Ooh.... look overhere...
hey hey look overhere, it's going right true the restaurant....
Look at the statue
Soon I will be laying shaking in my bed.
Look overher, unbelievable...
Yes we are save, we are on a mountain.
Look, it's going true the village....
Look those cars... those cars.....
Hey.. those cars are just floating away....
Look upthere....
Look at the restaurant...
hey, the people who were swinning are standing on top of it...

Look at the Nero_faker font link. People have tricks to give themselves abnormally high click totals.

This one got another 55,000+ clicks today alone (since this morning when I noticed it at 32,000).
Something fishy this way comes.
