So, I finally got broadband, I have some time to kill before I move to the Cayman Islands and I wanted to try one of those mmorpgs. Everybody and their brother is raving about World of Warcraft so I thought I'd try to pick up a copy.
Obviously they aren't going to have it in the Virgin Islands. There's no electrionic stores here, peroid. But you can always pick it up online, right? Welp, no. Much to my suprise, Blizzard's new game has sold out everywhere, brick & mortar and online. Copies are going for $100+ on eBay and there's no way in hell I'm going to cough up that dough.
I guess the official story is that their servers can't handle the number of people playing already, so they've stopped selling the game until they can resolve the issues. No comment on when that is, some speculate that it won't be until late Spring, early Summer.
I'm pissed to say the least. I was really looking forward to pissing away some time with this fun looking little game.
Oh well.
WoW sold out everywhere...
This is Surreal! WoW Totally Sold Out!
WoW is totally sold out
clu: MMORPGs are the devil. What a time suck. It's bad enough I'm already addicted to LF. A game with no clear ending would be the death of me. Besides, who really wants to devote their time practing to improve their character when they could use that time to learn real life skills, like cooking or playing an instrument? The answer is, a lot.
fb-: Bah.. I can cook. I've got more time on my hands than I know what to do with right now. I can only spend so much time at the beach or getting drunk. I need a time-suck.
misycarrot: It is teh complete suck being a w0w player at the moment. This is my first online game, and boy did I pick a wopper to start with! The game, in short, is freakin awsome....*when it's playable*. I just had 5 days off from work, and in that time, my server was playable for a total of 4 hours.
I have to log in at 6pm so I can wade thru the que so I'll be able to be logged in at 7 or 7:30...and that's if I don't get booted or the client decides to crash when I finally get to log in.
I would say you're better off right now cooking, drinking, watching movies, or something else.
Growing pains.
fb-: I guess that explains why they won't be selling any more copies for a few months. They should be kicking back free months of time to people that are signed up right now. Doesn't seem fair to charge $15 for that level of service.

Don't hold your breath.
