Modern skin is now available!

I've finally gotten the modern skin into a workable state. It was a ton of work, but well worth it. Modern uses the latest web standards, is responsive, and is social and mobile friendly.

Test it out and let me know when you find bugs. We'll shake it out a bit before making it the default.

glitch p-udding: A few things: 1 - I See "Start a new topic..." and "Write a new comment....". What is the difference? 2 - I can't hit enter to start a new line. 3 - The comments on this journal just repeat forever, for as long as I'm willing to scroll down. 4 - I don't understand the comment with the two "potatono:" fields in it. Are you quoting yourself? Are you talking to yourself? The context isn't clear. 5 - On a single word/link comment, the text field and title dwarf the comment and make it unclear what the comment is. 6 - I can't seem to submit this comment...so now I'm going to try some different stuff.

potatono: That seems to happen when people initially load the site, and then it clears up.
potatono:

The "Start New Topic" is the subject of a new thread.. "Write new comment" is the text of that first comment..

You can put blank lines by using shift-enter.. I can make a toggle if that's confusing.

I think the journal repeating forever was a similar caching issue.. Also weird things seem to happen if you have the site in multiple tabs, which is totally bizarre.
LinusMines: Also for blank lines, br in angle brackets works.
Ok a couple of problems I've seen so far...
potatono:

The chatter docking seems to be erratic. I think it may be an issue with caching.. It seems to be working better for me now.

Comments are supposed to post when you hit enter. I experienced getting stuck where it appeared to do nothing but the comments were actually happening. If you see this switch back to another skin and post a comment here..
potatono: oh there seems to be a bug with the refresh when updating a posted comment..
.....
cornpone: Thanks Pno!
Thanks...
LinusMines:

...for the progress so far. I enjoy the clean look.

If like me, anyone finds too much white space on their monitor, try using browser zoom (ctrl-plus/ctrl-minus) to compensate. If all browsers remember zoom settings per site (like FF does), it's always a fit.

Clicking stars to vote links is a minor thing to adapt to...it might be neat to hover over the stars and get a popup with average votes/number of votes.
