p5.js is a JavaScript library that starts with the original goal of Processing, to make coding accessible for artists, designers, educators, and beginners, and reinterprets this for today's web.

Using the original metaphor of a software sketchbook, p5.js has a full set of drawing functionality. However, you're not limited to your drawing canvas, you can think of your whole browser page as your sketch!

Conservatives and Republicans today suffered their most crushing legislative defeat since the 1960s.

It’s hard to exaggerate the magnitude of the disaster. Conservatives may cheer themselves that they’ll compensate for today’s expected vote with a big win in the November 2010 elections. But:

(1) It’s a good bet that conservatives are over-optimistic about November – by then the economy will have improved and the immediate goodies in the healthcare bill will be reaching key voting blocs.

(2) So what? Legislative majorities come and go. This healthcare bill is forever. A win in November is very poor compensation for this debacle now.

TRON Legacy Trailer

High Definition trailer for TRON Legacy. Recognizers, discs and lightcycles included.
If the Tron sequel fills Disney's digital pockets with cash, we may see plenty more lightcycle races and disk fights, on our TVs and in the Disney theme parks. Along with two more Tron flicks, making it a Tron Trilogy.

According to Blue Sky Disney, if Tron Legacy does well in the box office, we should be seeing at least two more films [beginning a whole new trilogy of Tron BLANK films Tron Legacy being the first] and the Mouse House's Tomorrowland might be getting a light suit face lift.

clu approves!
Education reformers have long dreamed of a day when schools could rate every K-12 teacher in the USA based on how his or her students perform on a standardized test.

It's a simple, bipartisan dream that has captivated both President Bush (it's a cornerstone of his 2002 No Child Left Behind education law) and President Obama, who's putting test scores squarely at the center of his emerging education agenda.

But a new, large-scale survey finds that only one in 14 teachers thinks it's a "very accurate measure" of teacher performance. They give more credence to kids' evaluations, actually.
Closer inspection of a photo of Sarah Palin, during a speech in which she mocked President Obama for his use of a teleprompter, reveals several notes written on her left hand. The words "Energy", "Tax" and "Lift American Spirits" are clearly visible. There's also what appears to read as "Budget cuts" with the word Budget crossed out.

Anti-ACORN filmmaker arrested
Posted by clu in government 8 years ago
Federal authorities have arrested four men on felony charges for attempting to infiltrate Sen. Mary Landrieu’s New Orleans office, including one filmmaker who targeted the community group ACORN last year in undercover videos... They were charged with entering federal property under false pretenses and attempting to gain access to the Democrat’s office by posing as telephone repairmen, according to a copy of an FBI affidavit unsealed Tuesday.

Remember the guy who dressed up as a pimp in those ACORN videos that caused the Senate to lose their cool and vote to prohibit the federal government from awarding contracts and grants to ACORN. It's that guy.

"People aren’t hearing all the music.

Artists and producers work hard in the studio perfecting their sound. But people can’t really hear it with normal headphones. Most headphones can’t handle the bass, the detail, the dynamics. Bottom line, the music doesn’t move you.

With Beats, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do."

Conservative grass-roots activists asserted Wednesday that third-party candidate Doug Hoffman’s loss in a New York special election was no setback but, rather, signaled a victory for the burgeoning political movement.
