*singing* I started a joke....
yoyology: Cool, I started a chatter discussion that led to a poll. I truly feel like part of the LF family now.
thanks for the mac options...
jeffro: but SimpleText shouldn't be on the list...32k filesize limit is shitty (on os 9 anyway). BBEdit gets my vote. Really nice for doing html editing.
potatono: Windows' Notepad is the same way.
UltraEdit32
Dart-: vote cast
subtek: UE32 all the way
what I use
clu: I use Crimson Editor for windows. It's a nice little freeware with just the right amount of options.
HTML Kit
metreiya: I love HTML Kit. It has a utterly obscene number of plugins that let you code anything.

some of the most popular plugins include:

  • Plugin twJavaScript
  • Plugin Spell Checker
  • Plugin dwsCSSEditor
  • Help File W3C HTML & CSS References
  • Plugin kdTranslationGerman
  • Plugin oegSQLBar
  • Plugin XML Validator
  • Plugin AspQuickBar
  • Help File PHP Reference

    and an awful lot more

  • glitch p-udding: yeah....HTML Kit is quite impressive. Can't believe I'd never heard of it before.
    you forgot NC!
la_bomba: Norton Commanders builtin editor is/was the best.. F4 for edit, F3 for viewing files.. I really miss the old DOS days.. :)
