What do you think of the increasing CP for multiple posts in a row?

Time based...
clu: I think a time based system would be more effective. My proposal is to let a maximum of 2 posts per twenty minutes. This will help prevent the onslaught of multiple posts in a row. But will allow a handful of people to post during inactive LF weekends.
potatono: I agree that something less restrictive is in order. Maybe we can combine the two. I'd also like to take into account the amount of posting traffic that is currently being received.

So lets see:

The top end of a busy day should be the entire page filled within an hour. This will usually give us somewhere between 1 and 2:

Traffic = Posts_in_the_last_hour / 30 + 1

So then we can use that as our multiplier a time based version of the current system.

Cost = 5 * Traffic ** Your_posts_in_the_last_hour.

Comments?

tapeguy: I don't understand any of that, but it sounds like a good thing...
CP for multi post
Jak: It will encourage AM to post string of garbage :)
potatono: Nah, CP is the cost for a post. Stands for contribution points. *cough* Readthefaq *cough* :)

How about...
tapeguy: ...setting it so that you can increase your CP back up by posting a comment or two on other people's links? Say, posting a comment will gain you two CP for the rest of the day, up to a maximum of 10. It might increase the amount of comments being made.
potatono: That's not a bad idea. What does everyone think?

I like the idea, but this will give AntiMusick perpetual CP with all the Repost comments he makes.
what about...
jones: instead of comments, using CP to encourage voting? I feel like people don't vote anymore...
jeffro: thats one of the problems (and why i stopped posting links) but i like the idea of the CP cost for mass postings. I can only speack for myself but i hate seeing a whole page with just one poster.

But assholes are going to be assholes and you really cant code for that : )
