the gentoo folks encourage users not to fear the linux from scratch install.
this is the only way linux geeks will ever get any excercise. this guy wrote his own version of dance dance revolution for linux in python. it uses the regular playstation pad and a usb adapter.
he's a dancing machine. he was moving so fast it looks like he's standing completely still.
the debian logo is a swirl.
this guy was demoing his realtime video-effect software. it runs on linux and requires very little in terms of processing power. he said it would run fine on a celeron 333.
the effects don't come across so great in these photos, but some of them were really incredible. he had linux running on that little playstation one w/ screen that's sitting on top there, too.
is this guy a ninja or is he working in a chip fabrication facility?
this was playing all day at some booth. have no idea what it was advertising. guess they wasted their money, huh?
okay, the redhat logo is kinda cool...but they should create a company policy that bans employees from wearing the hat...at least in public. look at that dork!
sgi: our racks are fancy!
german-based distribution suse linux remains popular
nobody was at the sco kiosk all day. nobody.
this photo had to be enhanced due to it being really dark. guess they wanted to keep the giant penguin under wraps.
this guy at the microsoft booth (microsoft at linuxworld?) decided he'd pose for the picture.
clu thinks nintendo. he was later "removed" from the booth. their was....some unpleasantness.
ximian's booth was really fancy. they seemed to put a lot of effort into the setup, altho there wasn't much info there.
a straw hut really isn't a straw hut without a high definition flat-panel display.
this is some sort of industrial refrigeration unit....or a linux server....i forget.
sgi!
ummm....from what i've heard, sun actually cripples their linux products so people will still buy their other products.
