Novelhead: I installed adblock, and for some reason my extension manager won't work. I decided to uninstall then reinstall firefox. But all my settings were still there, so that didn't work.
How do I get all of my settings and everything off so I can do a completely fresh install of firefox? Anybody know?
Novelhead: Never mind, I figured it out. Not that anybody cares.
deathburger: Profiles.. been there since Netscape 4 at least. All your personal stuff is in there. bookmarks, prefs, etc.
Novelhead: Yeah, that was it. I did a search from "my computer" for anything with "firefox" in the name, and all the files popped right up. Can't believe I forgot about that. :)
fb-: I'm more of a privoxy kinda guy, besides, this one won't install on Firefox 1.0.
deathburger: I was wondering when this would appear. 10!
deathburger: Since the 0.10 (1.0PR) builds of Firefox, their popup blocking seems to have been thoroughly busted. One visit to CNN it would block the popup, another it'd go through, completely inconsistant.
I'm using a 1.0 build (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041209 Firefox/1.0) now that seems to have a once-again-functional popup blocker. The thing is, I don't know if it's because it's on Linux, or if a patch was applied, or what. :/
deathburger: Aha, so that's it. Installed FF in GF's Windoze machine. Installed Adblock. At this point the Google ads on LF showed just fine. Installed these filters into Adblock, and the ads disappeared (not really a desirable thing, since I can't click 'em to help out now).
Just thought others ought to know..
